Don't worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will worry about itself. There are enough troubles right now, today. So, with thankful hearts for God's new mercies each morning, tell God all about your needs, and the peace of God (which is way more than anything you or I could ever arrange or conjure up) will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Matthew 6:34, Philippians 4:6-7)
In the present crisis with the COVID-19 coronavirus, WE WILL TRUST THE LORD WITH BOTH TODAY AND TOMORROW. But God's love and wisdom calls us to take measures that lessen the risk of contracting or passing on the virus to another. Personal safety measures are essential, but also—concerning the danger of corporate gatherings—we’ll be following the lead of our governing representatives and suspend gathering until "all is clear."
All church worship, meetings, and events will be suspended for Grace Church until further notice. BUT, WE CONTINUE to GATHER together LIVE ONLINE... and to be in touch by phone, mail, and Internet interaction. Bible2School is taking that same break, as all local schools will be closed. Nursing homes are closed to visitation, too. But we can be in touch with one another—in other ways—for mutual encouragement and prayer. Our elderly will especially need our communication with them (and our prayers) in this season. The Grace Church directory is now complete, and has been mailed (with an informational and encouraging letter) to every member’s household. This will enable all to be in touch with one another. So let's "redeem the time" and use these few weeks to reach out to one another with a phone call, email, cards and letters, social media, and personal visits when such visits are wise or needed. "Love one another," Jesus said, "and the people around you will know that you are my disciples." |
We want
A CLOSER WALK with JESUS. Just tryin' to learn how. Maybe you can help. Come walk with us as we walk with him. And come worship with us when we are able once again to gather in one place. GOD BLESS US ALL! |

A CARPENTER STREET SUNDAY
COME JOIN US on March 29 for
A CARPENTER STREET SUNDAY

SUNDAY at GRACE
EVERY SUNDAY MORNING people come through the doors at the corner of Carpenter and Ann for psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, an honest-to-God Bible sermon, and meaningful dialog on the stuff of life.
OUR MORNING TOGETHER consists of:
PRELUDE: Sunday School for adults at 9am
WORSHIP AND THE WORD (our worship service) begins at 10am
ENCORE (refreshments, fellowship, and dialogue) begins at 11:30am
SECOND SUNDAY
We love the old hymns, but we sing some new ones too, as well as gospel Americana and original songs that arise from our midst, all to live acoustic accompaniment (roots music): guitar, violin, banjo, harmonica, mandolin, flute, three and four-part harmonies, and one old stand-up piano (we even fire up the organ every once in a while)! And every Second Sunday of each month we're packing the stage with guest musicians and adding songs to our repertoire JUST FOR YOU (well, we'd probably do it anyway, but we sure hope you'll join us!) Add to that a straight-shootin', politically-incorrect message from the Bible and a great lunch after the service (new menu every month!), and you've got SECOND SUNDAY at Grace Church: two and a half hours of sanctified cool (10:00am to 12:30am).
JOIN US, will you? Hand-clapping and occasional loud whooping encouraged.
THE REST of the WEEK
GRACE GROUPS (small groups which meet in various locations) are formed as needed. These relational groups provide ongoing opportunities for further fellowship, a deeper study of the Bible, and the building of Christian community among us.
Presently, the East Pete Grace Group meets at Grace Church (6067 Carpenter Street in East Pete) every 2nd and 4th Thursday evening at 6:30. We are studying the 12 apostles: those crazy guys!
RIPPLE (our Americana roots acoustic band) plays out and about as opportunities arise. Whether at a cafe in Lancaster or some bar along the Susquehanna, we’d love to have you singing along. Check the Grace Calendar for any upcoming performances.
